1. My current visa is expiring before my course completion. What do I need to do?


If your current visa is expiring and you need more time to complete your studies, you must apply for a new student visa to remain in Australia lawfully. Please see the Department of Home Affairs website for detailed guidance and requirements.


2. When should I start the process for visa extension?


We recommend starting the visa application process at least 3 months before your current visa expires. This ensures you have enough time to gather all necessary documents and meet application deadlines. We recommend consulting a registered migration agent.


3. What documents do I need to apply for a new student visa?


Please refer to the for Department of Home Affairs website for a comprehensive list of required documents. Typical requirements include:

· Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

· Health Insurance (Overseas Student Health Cover)

· Proof of financial capacity

· Passport and any additional documents specific to your circumstances


4. How long can I stay in Australia on my student visa after completion of my course?


Once you complete your studies, AIH will notify the Department of Home Affairs on the date your final grades are released. Your student visa will remain valid for 28 days after course completion date or until the visa’s expiry date, whichever comes first.

If order to comply with your visa conditions, you must either depart Australian within this time, or apply for another Australian Visa. Please see the Department of Home Affairs for detailed guidance and requirement.


5. Can I study while I am on bridging visa?


You may be allowed to study while on a bridging visa, depending on the specific conditions attached to your bridging visa. You should review the visa conditions listed in your bridging visa grant notification or contact the Department of Home Affairs for confirmation.
